Post A140 Problem

Guys...it happened again. for no known reason 2nd time, no lights left on, or any other visable reason.
only 4.75 volts in battery. first time was 2 months ago, i thought i had left the interior lights on so i charged the battery, but i realy did not think i left them on, and the dealer did not want me to bring the vehicle in. now i know i did not. this vehicle has to be dependable.
i will be interesting to see how the Benz dealer handles this erratic problem.

Thanx.

you have an electrical leak somewhere that's causing the battery drain. connect an ampere meter in series with the battery and wait for about 10-15 minutes. 0.07 A is the tolerable drain for the time, memory, etc. greater than that means an electrical consumer is always woken up thus draining the battery. ne sure the car goes to sleep mode to get the right easurement.

easy check is the glove compartment light/switch.

anyway, did you retrofit any aftermarket consumer? have it double checked too.

I think it could be the alternator problem.

supertech correct me if i'm wrong, but i think he is referring about start-up problem. i really have a strong feeling that it could be an electrical leak. but let's hear more about waylander to clear things up.
