Post C 200 SAM UNIT

I have had problems with my elec windows, central locking, wash wipers, indicators, elec mirrors, horn, and some others. I was told this was caused by the SAM unit packing in. I bought a new unit Ј227 from the dealers but this hasn't solved the problem. does anyone give more info. someone has told me to disconnect the battery, but my boot is locked. HELP

you can use the mechanical key to open the boot.

regarding your SAM, who made the replacement? is it a brand new SAM? did you/they do the coding?

this problem is quite common for the C200.

the replacement sam unit is a genuine M/B part. They didnt code it as they said it came already done. The mechanical boot lock wont open with the key.

you should go back to the dealership where you replaced the SAM. should check the coding and connectors if properly inserted and it's electrical connections. regarding your boot, sad to say that the only way to open it is by via mechanical key, trunk lid interior switch, transmitter key.

try to play with the trunk key fob using the mechanical key and be patient this time. there are times that i get difficulty opening it myself too.

good luck

sorry for jumping the thred

but does a sam unit get coded via the ecu.

i phoned benz in the UK and they told me that some come coded and some dont he took my chassis number and told me it need to be coded.

do they code it through the ecu,

i ask because i opend the samsunit and see there is no microprosessor i could see or eeprom of where the info could be stored.

so how does it work

my next experiment is b4 sending the car to the dealers is the unit has a broken cracked smt cap i am going to replace to see if that works.

i have third party benz diagnostic i can read quite alot of info the unit is a benz multiplexer can i use this to program the ecu

Sorry to get into this thread, but I think

I have C200K ,and have replace a faulty alternator (old was Valeo and new is Bosh) . Now engine doesn't start. All electronics seems to work ok , except for the engine when I turn the key it dashboard turns on but when reach start position it turns it off.

Any advise what could be failing?
Is there anything else that  I need to do when replace  this kind of parts.?
Could it be a damaged SAM?  and where are these located ?
Any other idea?

Regards
I'll really appreciate your help

Far, I greeting you all again. After my prolonged propinquity in the forum is not, I could not procure the shibboleth to your olden vignette and started a up to date one. I'm delighted that I am again with you.
