engine coolant

Post engine coolant 

Hello,
This is the first mercedes i have owned i have a 1994 C180 and i am losing all of my water and coolant from what looks like a shiny circular disk on the engine block just below the exhaust manifold could some one please tell me what this is and is it easy to fix.

you mean the disk you are referring to is driven by the belt? if it is, it's the coolant pump. it's easy if you're a technically inclined person. you need to remove the air cleaner, poly v-belt, detaching the coolant line, hoses and some hard to reach bolts. you have to replace the pump gasket when installing it all back.

Hi,
I think, you have a core plug leaking..the parts are relatively cheap but can be costly to repair if a lot of stripping down is required for access to the leaking core plug..bear in mind that the other core plugs on the engine may not be far behind.
