what year was your car? does the engine malfunction indicator light appears? what tests have they done(endoscope, compression test, etc.)?how was your idling status?
open the engine oil filler cap and inspect for sludge formation. sludge could indicate a burned oil(worn piston rings, faulty hydraulic valves.) this burned oil will reduce engine power, wastes fuel, etc. it could also be a MAF sensor that wont appear during scanning even if its faulty or exhaust back pressure too high( clogged up dirt, obstructed, etc.)
good luck and hope you could resolve this one.
