Post fuel consumption on my c240 

Hi, i have a C240, my first mercedes benz, nice car. some days the petrol/gas needle seems to move very quickly, some days hardly at all. Is it anything to with the climate control! Can anyone help me, thank you.

when using climate control it does affect fuel consumption.
