Post Gear Indication Lights 

I just bought a 98 E320. I don't see any Gear Indication Lights on the Dashboard. It says in manual that there are lights on dashboard indication which gear (P,R,N,D,3,2,1) is in use. There are lights on the shift gear but no indication on dashboard.

Is it normal?

Don't think I've ever seen a gear shift display on a Merc on the dashboard.
What country you in?
Are you sure handbook isn't covering other models close to your own, & thats why theyr'e not there.
Just a thought.
