Handbrake Problem

Post Handbrake Problem 

Please help somebody. I have changed the rear pads on my car (E300) and the handbrake now goes up like 18 clicks instead of the usual 4. So how do i adjust this hand brake. I have taken off the covers on the handbrake itself and can't adjust from there.

handbrake? your car is W124, right? are you sure its a handbrake or is it a parking brake pedal?
