Post Help...240D 180k, looking for advice 

Advice please? 240D  Do they appreciate? Worse case scenario for $$$$ to restore? Runs fine now, but it does need paint, tires and air. Is this a hobby car? I'd rather put $ into a car that appreciates than watch my 2006 KIA depreciate. Does it make sense restore and use as primary transportation in town?  I typically drive less than 5000k a year and would rent a car for long distance. Also I want to use bio diesel and read conflicting info, Southern AZ has some freezing days in winter, but not many. Should mention, driving it makes me smile.
