planning to buy a C320 (W203). does anyone have any tips on whether a second hand C320 is worth buying - big risks, I know but having the urge to change cars every 3 years, I don't feel it's necessary to buy a brand new car. Please let me have your comments.

hi chear, i am in the same situation as you do. I have tested drive a c320 last month. I had a pretty good feeling with it. However, I do hesitate to buy it since I was told that c320 has some engine problem on long distance drive. Anyone has such experience, pls let me know.

from what i know, so long as it has full benz books and service history they are great to pick up second hand.  I have only ever had pre loved benz's and from my experience they are just as good if not better than a new one.  

i had previously a c180 w202 with over 240000 on it.  perfectly service every 5000km.  it had one owner previous to me and had better than perfect books.  it drove so well and reliabley that if you covered up the odometer, you would think it had only travelled 80000km.

I have just picked up a c200k w203 with only 69000km on it and perfect books.  drives like new.

how many km's does the one you are looking at have?

perhaps you could have the car inspected by a mechanic? It may be worth spending some extra money on a mechanic to inspect the car, to make sure you have a great example on your hands.
