Garage Cabinets, Garage Storage, and Garage Organization

Hello!

I just obtained a 1996 C220 and have a question. I am getting a rattling noise from the water pump area. It makes the car sound like a diesel. I was able to find out that it is the bushing in a part that runds from the belt tensioner to the water pump area and looks like a shock. Does anyone know what the proper name is and if it is hard to replace?

the chain tensioner. removing it is quite easy for an experienced mechanic.

Once is enough, twice is too much, thrice is a disaster...

I do not even know if it is functioning correctly or not. I used a zip tie to apply pressure to the bolt hole and it stopped for now. I may repair if needed......thanks for the info!
