was it audio 20 display or audio 50 aps display or COMAND? is it hot in your country? does it happen when you switch on any consumers(interference)? when you say turned off, no display on the audio system display (ie. mercedes star or dashes appears)?
if it is audio 20 display, you have to update the software version of AGW to 43/03.
if it was an audio 50 aps display, the AGW switches off due to overheating and system shuts down. the solution for this is to install additional fan on the AGW(already pre-wired).
if in the case of COMAND and if navigation is present, the fiber optic cable is not sufficiently dampened between AGW and the navigation proessor. the cause is a static noise from all speakers in all audio sources and COMAND shuts off/on without obvious cause. the remedy is to retrofit an extended fiber optic cable between AGW and navigation processor.
FYI: the AGW is located here as N93/1 ...
