sound from the steering

Post sound from the steering 

I just purchased a '00 C230.
I think i have a problem!! whenever i turn the steering wheel, most times i get this knocking sound from the steering. Its doesnt happen all the time but 8 out 10 times it does, it also does it when i hit a bump or take a corner going about 25 or soo. if you have any ides what it might be, please help me out. thank you all.

it could just be the lubrication of the steering part or worse the power steering pump. also, could be the shock absorber mounting brushings is dry which needs to lubricate.have you checked your power steering fluid level? any leaks?locating the noise should take a lot of experience in dealing with it. knowing the parts and its uses is a prerequisite to help locating the cause. i suggest you have it check by your mechanic to investigate the noise. goodluck and welcome here in M-BenzForum. hope you enjoy your stay here.
